Recofloor

About Recofloor

Polyflor recycle internationally and have actively supported Vinyl 2010 and now the Vinyl 2020 Commitment. Following on from the successful Waste and Resources Action Program (WRAP) initiative ‘Recycle Your Vinyl Flooring’ - which was a trial for recovering end of life vinyl flooring, Polyflor is one of two founder members of Recofloor, the industry funded vinyl take-back scheme.

As more people get on board with the Recofloor scheme we will see even more waste vinyl flooring being recycled and even less going to landfill. Through the scheme safety flooring off-cuts and smooth vinyl off-cuts from the installation process will be recycled back into new flooring.

Uplifted, or end-of-life material will be downcycled into traffic calming products such as traffic cone and road barrier bases.

For vinyl flooring, between 5% and 10% is typically wasted as off-cuts on projects, depending on the shape of the area that the flooring is being laid on. This material would normally be taken away by a waste contractor and landfilled locally. Interested? Please fill in the Registration Form.
