Okapox GF Epoxy

Description

Versatile, 2-component epoxy resin for sealing of cracks and joints in screeds and concrete, as a primer for pretreating absorbent and non-absorbent substrates before filling and installation work. Okapox GF-M offers a water vapour diffusion resistance (sd value) of 200 m at a layer thickness of 0.5 mm and can be used as a moisture barrier..

Okapox GF-M is also suitable as a binder for the production of epoxy resin mortars.

    Features
    • Solvent and water free
    • Very low VOC emission
    • High bond strength for repairing cracks and joints in screed and concrete
    • Suitable as primer or moisture barrier
    • Suitable as binder for epoxy mortars
    • Does not replace waterproofing membranes or components as per AS 4858 and AS 3740

      Storage

Store in dry area for up to 12 months - recommended storage temperature: +10°C - +20°C

      * At +20 °C and 65% relative humidity. Higher temperature and low humidity decreases, lower temperature and high humidity increases this value respectively.

    • Substrate Preparation

The substrate must be dry, clean and sound. Mechanically remove any oil based or loose products. The existing substrates be prepared as per AS1884 and meet the requirements for moisture control and Planeness, Smoothness and Abrupt Surface Deviation. Levelling compounds may be part of the solution to achieve these requirements. When in doubt contact Polyflor Technical Department on 1800 777 425.

    • Processing

Using a screw driver to pierce the bottom of the lid container several times. Let the entire hardening liquid flow into the lower container. Remove the completely empty container and mix the two components thoroughly with an electric stirrer until the mixture is free of streaks. Repot and stir again.

      As crack and joint resin:

The parts to be primed must be dry, clean and free of grease. Enlarge screed cracks so that the grouting can flow in. In addition cut into 2/3 of the screed layer perpendicular to the crack every 10 -30 cm with a cutting disc, vacuum, set a steel spike or screed repair clamp, fill with Okapox GF resin and scatter quartz sand on fresh surface immediately. Alternatively priming within 48 hours with Okatmos® EG 20 (undiluted).

      As primer:

Apply Okapox GF evenly onto surface with a 10mm microfibre roller. Scatter a fair amount of quartz sand (0.6 - 1.2 mm grain) onto the fresh surface (coverage approx. 2.5 kg/m²). Alternatively priming within 48 hours with Okatmos® EG 20 (undiluted).

      As epoxy resin mortar:

Mix Okapox GF to a homogenous consistency and add up to 3 kg - 3.5 kg quartz sand (0.6- 1.2 mm grain). To fill holes prime the edges first with pure Okapox GF and fill wet in wet with mortar.

    • Coverage

      • Approx. 5m2 per kg
      • 200-300g/m2 as primer
      • 400-500g/m2 as moisture barrier
      • 800-950g/m2 in combination with Kiesel silica glass fibre mesh
      • 600-700g/m2 per cm thickness as a drainage mortar/drainage screed
    • Packaging

      • 7kg two compartment tin container
      • 3.5kg two compartment tin container
